1. What is chiropractic?
Chiropractic is the art, science and philosophy of locating and correcting vertebral subluxations through specific, gentle chiropractic adjustments thus allowing the body to function at it's optimum potential.
2. What is an adjustment?
A specific, precise, non-invasive "thrust" delivered with the Activator chiropractic instrument. It's fast and non-painful, with NO neck turning and twisting and NO bones "popping" or "cracking".
3. What is vertebral subluxation?
The brain and nervous system control the function of ALL of the organs and systems of the body. The brain and nervous system are very delicate and fragile, so nature protected them with a bony enclosure, called your cranium and spine. The brain makes a direct or indirect connection to every cell and organ system in the body via the nervous system. If there is ANY interruption from the brain's message to the body, the body will not function correctly. This interruption from the brain to the body happens in the spine, when the spine twists out of place, it is called a vertebral subluxation. Vertebral subluxations are caused by a multitude of reasons, stress being the number one cause, and stress occurs in many fashions. Any stress; physical, emotional, mental, or chemical that the body cannot adapt to can create vertebral subluxations. Vertebral subluxations occur as early in life as the birthing process and this is the number one reason that infants need adjustments as well.
4. Will my adjustment hurt? The activator, a hand-held instrument, delivers a thrust at one-ten thousandth of a second, so all you feel is a little "thump". We have adjusted our own children since they were only a few hours old. We adjust numerous patients as well, ranging in age from one-month to ninety-five years old.
5. Can you help my sick child? Most likely! However, we do not label and treat disease. We are a center for well being. We DO address the underlying imbalances that CAUSE disease and discomfort in both the body and mind.
6. How many times do I have to come? Each patient is unique on every level; therefore, it is virtually impossible for us to know exactly how many adjustments you will need in order to hit each of your health goals. However, one truth we do know is that your goals and expectations have 100% to do with the number of times you visit us.
7. Will I feel better after getting adjusted? We are not focused on treating diseases, but rather on enhancing the healing potential of all practice members. There are numerous scientific studies that document the fact that those recieving chiropractic care experience 200% immune-competence (stronger immune system) as well as a host of other benefits including; increased energy and stamina, increased metabolism, increased mental acuity, greater ability to cope with stress and much more. The importance is on quality of life rather than disease outcomes. We have a saying around our office, "how you are feeling is not always congruent with how you are healing". We are dedicated to your greatest goals. We are honored to be your wellness-directed lifestyle "coach".
8. Will chiropractic care be expensive? Considering the benefits, the experience at our office, the all inclusiveness of our services, and the cost of providing you with the best health care, our fees are VERY reasonable and offer priceless value! Over 75% of our patients choose to enroll in our prepaid plan. It makes care very affordable for the whole family.
9. What services do you offer? We offer state of the are chiropractic care, including SEMG and thermal computer scans, chiropractic x-rays, adjusting using the Activator instrument, Children's Chiropractic Information Center, lending library, various exercises, free health talks, and more.
10. How long will it take to get adjusted? Even the busiest of our patients commit to making chiropractic care a priority in their lives. Your adjustment will take about 10 minutes. If however, you want to schedule one-on-one time with one of the doctors to discuss a particular issue, just ask and we will schedule your appointment accordingly.
11. What if I feel fine; do I need to keep coming back? The decision is always up to you! However, it has been our experiene that those who stop care when they are "feeling fine" return later with the same problem, only usually exacerbated. On the other hand, those who commit to regular care find their problem(s) rarely return; as well as they enjoy a higher quality of life and health.
